This article presents and discusses academic writing practice in English as a foreign language and in Portuguese (students’ first language) for engineering undergraduate students. In English, the aim of the study is the production of scientific abstracts in the hard sciences area. If we consider that writing can be related to the learners’ subjective constitution, when developing writing tasks in Portuguese, the aim is to motivate students to the research and writing of an article or academic monograph in the humanities fields.Téléchargements
