Abstract

This article aims to analyze Roberto Campos’ views about education based on his writingsduring the dictatorship, a period when he defended technocratic and “productivist” education.We attempt to make explicit the author’s positions and the social base that supported him,with the goal of better understanding Brazilian education and the particularities of the “productivist”and technocratic education proposed by the dictatorship.
