Abstract

The objective of this article is to discuss the “transformation” and the preference for social and educational inequalities. The working class seemed to offer alternatives for change and the structural transformations did not occur even with the left in power. The production of inequalities is something inherent to the capitalist system and the educational system functions as an apparatus for justifying social and education inequalities. The massification of tertiary education in France did not mean the reduction of inequalities. The return of the legacy tends to amplify the level of inequality, generating a crisis of solidarity.
