The modern science has been offering many tools for control and manipulation of nature and man, but although of overjoyed speeches, there is still irrationality in the use of scientific instruments and products. For this reason, it is conducive for academics, especially those who work with theological texts and / or religious discourses, to think about the hermeneutic wear and tear that the modern scientific model has presented, and to what extent it is possible to recover the creative breath of science through the revitalization of discourse. philosophical and literary. The purpose of this text is a essay and seeks to analyze modern science within ancient philosophical issues that go back even to the common origins between theology and philosophy. To do so, it starts from a short text written by Fernando Pessoa as a way of calling into question the feelings of restlessness that all modern life raises within human beings, Pessoa’s aesthetics keeps a unique type of mysticism, something that internalizes the changes of the modern mentality inaugurated by the discoveries of modern science and at the same time shows a certain intellectual malaise in face of a reality charged with the fates and boredom of life.
