O papel dos registros de representação na compreensão do sistema de numeração decimal.

Abstract

Neste trabalho, buscaremos destacar e evidenciar certos aspectos relevantes presentes na representação semiótica do Sistema de Numeração Decimal – SND. Nessa direção, proporemo-nos a apontar a importância da representação semiótica para a compreensão da estrutura do SND por crianças, em ambiente escolar, e os aspectos a serem contemplados no processo de ensino, numa dimensão didático-metodológica do ato educativo. As reflexões estarão voltadas também para o papel do professor nesse processo, no sentido de compor um referencial teórico que lhe sirva de apoio para avaliar as compreensões das crianças e, dessa forma, através da reflexão e da reorganização da prática educativa, contribuir para os avanços nessas compreensões. Alguns dados empíricos estarão no centro dessas reflexões, objetivando identificar o papel da representação semiótica na criação e na produção de um sistema de representação de quantidades que visa estabelecer a medida de um conjunto. Abstract This work aims to highlight and show some relevant aspects of the semiotic representation of the Decimal Numeration System (DNS). To achieve this, we consider the importance of semiotic representation for children’s understanding of the DNS structure, in the school context, along with the teaching aspects related to the didactic-methodological dimension of an educational act. Our reflections also focus on the role of teachers in this process: we recommend that they have theoretical references to support the assessment of children’s understanding. In this way, through the reflection upon and reorganization of the educational practice, we intend to impact upon children’s evolving understandings. Empirical data will be at the center of these reflections, with the aim of identifying the role of semiotic representation in the creation and production of a system of representation of quantities whose purpose is the establishment of the measure of a set.
