Abstract

In the last decades, the contemporary society has been passed for significant changes that are configured by the superposition of the market upon the State and the Society. The University, as others institutions, has been pressed to fit itself to the logic of the market, orienting its act of education to the necessities of the capital. At he same time, the civil society organized and compromised with social questions started to require that historical demands of marginality and suffer groups would be contemplated. From this context, it was understood how the Universidade Federal Rural da Amazônia (UFRA), lócus of the research, perceives and confronts with those transformations. From December of 2000, the institution started the project denominated Pro- UFRA, conducted when it was still Faculdade de Ciências Agrárias do Pará (FCAP), having as objective the institutional fortification. The first action started with the transformation of FCAP in UFRA in 2002, which could be consolidated with the implementation of new activities in the Agronomy, Forest Engineering, Veterinary Medicine, Zoothecny and Fish Engineering courses. From its teaching, investigation and extension activities, the Pro-UFRA had as mission to work with the objective of topping different kinds of obstacles, with the intention of aiming the increase of life conditions of higher stratum populations suffered in Amazon, in the exclusion of poverty and for the environment of the region. From this scenery, the study in question comprehended the process of reformulation of the activities used by UFRA between 2002 and 2005. The objective was to perceive the dynamic of the relations established during the activities development, from which was objectified as intention to he fulfilled actions by The Group of Activities Development. The investigation has been supported by the qualitative approach, based on a documental research and semi-structured interviews. The participant subjects were teachers of the institution, who had been involved or not with the reformulation of the activities. The results indicate the necessity of the university to evaluate the way that is was conducted the development of the activities, once the injection of expectations in the results did not considered the possibility that the antagonistic positions could establish and make impracticable the implementation of new activities of the courses offered by the institution, as enfeeble that an analyze of the activities as practice was fulfilled in the perspective of perceiving if the proposition would be consolidated as an alternative of social emancipation or the maintenance of the present structures.
