Abstract

Schools organizations have progressively gained visibility, in the last two decades, as a consequence of the school “crisis” in the whole world and of the necessity of reviewing school quality, responding to contemporary demands. School reforms, which had took place in almost all countries, had brought about new curriculum perspectives and, with them, the necessity of more participative - and, consequently, more democratic - management models, that shape a more autonomous school in regard to centralized systems. In this context, it seems to emerge a new organizational paradigm in which all sort of innovations may be found, including new institutional relations, in unexpected partnerships, technical cooperation and absorption of corporative volunteering. New languages, new tools and new interlocutors had emerged, and not always the educators accept them rapidly. Even implemented slowly, some changes can be identified, and, among them, new investments in public policies of educational managers formation. These new managers are the ones that could create a new place of work, where they could lead changes, use their creativity and that of their collaborators and partners, sharing information and power, in an organizational model that promotes educational quality.
