Abstract

The aim of this article is to reason about technology and its relations with an education proposal engaged to the problematic of a society in the digital era, stressing the continuous training of teachers as a relevant activity to enrich the role of the teacher. Firstly an experience report is shown, based on the training course which occurred in the Northeastern Region of Brazil, involving teachers of the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL) for the construction of teaching material using the Moodle Course Management System during the years of 2007-2008. Following this report, we seek to understand the pedagogical practice based on the training with and by the technologies, using a teaching and learning methodology using cases and conceptual maps. In addition, the study exposes discussions around the curriculum and initial and continuous training of teachers, as well as their modes and conceptions, opening space for reasoning about the interaction among students, teachers and tutors, specially in the virtual learning environment.
