Abstract

This article presents an analysis of 17 dissertations and a doctor’s thesis on the projects and programs of education for workers, carried out by union organizations, produced between 1996 and 2006. In order to systematize data and establish an analysis, its starting point is based on the research’s objectives and general issues, the initial categories of which were defined by the research team. When necessary, some theory from the field of studies of Work-Education and Pedagogy are also emphasized. Categories were established for themes and research objects of study, for theoretical and methodological choices; for the fields of reference that provide basis for projects and programs of worker education carried out by the union movements; for the approach of proposals of the programs and projects, chiefly in that which concerns the interlinking of political analysis and pedagogy; for the recommendations of the researchers themselves and, finally, for the lacunas identified from reading students’ production.
