Abstract

This article analyzes sixteen works (seven doctor’s theses and nine master’s dissertations) referring to PLANFOR – National Professional Education Plan – produced between 1999 and 2006. The objective was to produce a commented bibliographical review, highlighting the main themes, issues proposed, and results found by the researches, especially with regard to that which relates to the educational dimension. This is examined based on the duration and contents of the courses, not taking into consideration the subject that underwent the professional (re)qualification. The great criticism of the works lies in the fact of not articulating PLANFOR with the regular education system. With this outlook there is no dialogue with the literature on popular education and/or non-school education and neither is there a discussion on are the consequences of this type of education in other places other than the work market.
