Keywords:
ethno-racial relations, black population, non-school educationAbstract
This article presents an analysis of thirteen theses and dissertations on the theme of non-school Adult education and ethno-racial relations, produced between 1999 and 2006. It presents data that refers to research analyzed and reflects on its theoretic substantiation, such as criticisms related to current ethno-racial relations. It debates the principal themes investigated: a) the educational dimension of the actions of the black movements’ organizations, of civil society organizations, of cultural nuclei of the black population, as well as through religious practices in Confraternities and in African-based religions such as Candomblé, and b) the contributions of educational practices carried out in these places in order to construct black identity. The issues discussed offer elements for understanding how these practices contribute to questioning school education, through criticism and proposals for its curricula.Downloads
