Abstract

The Physical Education teachers, based on their profession history disconnected from the teaching pedagogical knowledge, many times, exempt themselves from actively acting in activities which involve the School Education process. Facing this, the objective of this investigation was to analyze the P.E teacher participation in the school management and his/her contribution to his/her professional education. The methodology used was based on qualitative approach. The study participants were five Physical Education teachers working in state schools in the city of Santa Maria (RS). To collect information, semi-structured interviews were done with theses teachers, having the interpretation being followed by content analysis. They believe that participating in the school management brings benefits to their transformation, their teaching practice and their professional development through different perspectives.
