Electro Metallurgica Brasileira: Eixo Condutor Para Integração Curricular

This work is an offshoot of previous works, it uses the case study of Electro Metallurgica Brasileira, a steel enterprise in the city of Ribeirão Preto from 1920 to 1930, and as the factors that culminated in such an enterprise, can be used in an interdisciplinary way proposing pedagogical proposals for New High School students; the purpose of this dynamic was the interdisciplinary work in the area of Applied Human and Social Sciences and Natural Sciences and their technologies, contributing to the curricular enrichment of the students. This interdisciplinarity is foreseen in the creation of training itineraries applied in the format in the New High School and aims at the appropriation of the student's knowledge related to his life project. Thus, the student is seen as the protagonist of his teaching trajectory. The discipline “From the primitive nebula to our everyday iron” was offered within the Elective that aims to be chosen by students and have the grouping of the three high school series, but as in 2021 we were following the health rules imposed by Covid-19. 19, we offer the subject to a specific room of the 1st grade of the new high school, with that we face some mishaps due to the lack of identity of the students with the project. However, even with some difficulties, we achieved engagement and presented the work at a congress, due to which we offered the discipline again in 2022. This year, with the relaxation of sanitary measures, we can hold the fair for students who were interested, with the identity of the new students, and grouping of students, we use active methodologies that are contributing to the construction of knowledge in both areas of study.
