Abstract

The intention of this paper is to discuss relevant issues resulting from theoretical and empiric research about the use of ICT as a way to provoke changes in the curriculum. For that, we analyzed the project Science UPD8 developed by Sheffield University in United Kingdom that is a collaborative network of scientists, teachers and students. Moreover, we discuss about the workshop “21st Century Science Learning” that happened in Sao Paulo in 2004. We initially present the educational context of the Science in UK. Next, how Science UPD8 was created and has been used. Then, we discuss about the changes in the curriculum through ICT. And finally, we conclude this paper with the analyses of the workshop in Brazil where we emphasize some important aspects: conscious-critical and ethic-scientific literacy, autonomy, co-authority and the ICT uses to enlarge the lively network of learning.
