Abstract

Nowadays we are witnessing a complex process of deep changes in a world that is torn between two simultaneously complementary and opposite options: globalization and localism. The educational system is immersed in this tendency that prioritizes the structural, macroeconomic and ideological aspects but with scanty dedication to the daily and domestic routines that make possible the success or failure of the big speeches as we have verified. In this respect, we have directed our research in the last years to the European convergence with our students, taking as a backbone the topic of the continuous assessment and the participation in the difficult way of the education - learning. We think that the valuation of the knowledges that we do is basic to mark the profile of the pupil and professional future that we wish. On the other hand, we understand that without their collaboration, little can we do if we do not manage to modify their structure of thought. Our work has been developed during the last seven years in the subject of Didactics of the Social Sciences in the Department of Education in Castelló University “Jaume I” (País Valencià, Spain). Its result has been the confection of an own system of continuous assessment in the frame of a participative environment of the student body in the programming, methodology and evaluation of the subject.
