Abstract

This article has a two fold purpose: on one side, it aims to highlight de importance of strategically management in the conduction of pedagogical projects in higher educational institutions; as a second goal, it analyses the pedagogy course reform process based on the context of the debate carried out in the last ten years in Brazil, since the promulgation of the current LDBEN (The Brazilian National Educational Law in 1996) up to the recent approval of the Pedagogy Course National Guidelines Curriculum in 2006. These two subjects are related by the fact that educational managers, teachers and pupils have shared the same sentiment of uncertainty and instability regarding the both the course and the profession’s future during the mentioned period. This debate centers on the course identity concerning, especially, those who have witnessed the troublesome situation for the pedagogy courses during these last few years in Brazil.
