Technologies, chiefly information and communication ones with their distinctive features connected to registering, searching, retrieving and updating of information, communication and knowledge production, open new perspectives for learning, teaching, teacher development and scientific research, therefore raising the need to understand their contribution to scientific development. This article presents the theoretical and methodological bases of research projects and teacher development programs carried out at the Post-graduate studies in Education and Curriculum of the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP), from the establishment of the research line New Technologies in Education, bringing forth research about education professionals and researchers in new areas that highlight the technologies potential regarding pursued purposesDownloads
