About the Journal

Bakhtiniana. Revista de Estudos do Discurso [Bakhtiniana. Journal of Discourse Studies], in electronic format, is a bilingual journal with all its content published in Portuguese and English. It was created in 2008 by Programa de Estudos Pós-Graduados em Linguística Aplicada e Estudos da Linguagem [Applied Linguistics and Language Studies Graduate Program] from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo/LAEL-PUCSP and by the members of Linguagem, Identidade e Memória [Language, Identity and Memory] Research Group/CNPq (National Council for Scientific and Technological Development). The journal aims to promote and to publicize research on discourse.

Since 2019, it has published an issue every three months. Each issue is composed of original papers and book reviews written by professors and researchers from international and national universities.

It receives submissions on a continuous flow basis.

In 2023, the journal has adopted continuous publication, a format where its texts including presentations, editorials, articles, and reviews are published simultaneously on SciELO as they are approved and revised. These texts are distributed across the four annual issues of the periodical, remaining open until the end of its periodicity. After an issue is complete, it is also made available on Portal de Revistas da PUC-SP. The option for this type of publication is in line with Bakhtiniana's commitment in accelerating the communication process of quality research and, therefore, contributing to its availability for reading and citation.

In compliance with the current and good national and international scientific communication practices, Bakhtiniana has started in 2020 its process of adherence to Open Science. 

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that scientific knowledge freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. It also does not have any article processing or submission charges.

The Soviet and the Post-Soviet in Dialogue with (Post-/De-)Colonial Studies

2023-07-20

We invite researchers to submit articles that explore encounters, possible dialogues and
cross-fertilization between (post-/de-)colonial studies and the intellectual and cultural
history of the Soviet and post-Soviet world.
We particularly encourage reflection on key ideas such as Orientalism, imperialism,
universalism, identity, minority, race and gender, addressing them from various
disciplinary perspectives, among which history, philosophy, literary theory, discourse
and media studies.
