Analysis of prenatal care in the perception of postpartum women

Introduction: The prenatal attention foresees the promotion of maternal-infantile health including the treatment of the problems that, for misfortune, happen in that period. Objective: To analyze the prenatal attention in the users’ perception who accomplished the childbirth in an university hospital, of a midsize city of RS and to characterize the practices of prenatal presented in that municipal district. Material and Methods: The sample consisted of 150 mothers who were interviewed within 48 hours after birth. The interview approached the accomplishment of the prenatal and the perception of the pospartum women concerning the same. The collection period was two months. Results: Of the 150 mothers interviewed, 91,33% accomplished prenatal in services of health of different technological densities (Hospital, Private Clinic and Basic Attention). When there were orientations during the prenatal, the subject more approached was breast-feeding, followed by the healthy habits of feeding, contraception and cares with the baby. 100% of the users that accomplished the prenatal in the hospital, with the interdisciplinary team, lack of information didn’t feel or new information. Conclusion: In spite of the high index of accomplishment of prenatal, a select analysis evidences a dislocation among the prenatal period, birth and postpartum and it reveals the importance of an interdisciplinary approach in the prenatal as the one developed by the Program of Residence multi-professional in which the study was conducted.Downloads
